Reddit search API and X search API: posts by keyword on Reddit, X, LinkedIn and TikTok, per call

Give your agent a keyword and get the posts back as rows: title, text, author, score, date and the link, from Reddit, X, LinkedIn or TikTok, each through the same olywork.com key, from $0.00075 at the provider's own rate with no markup. No Reddit developer app to apply for, no X Basic tier to subscribe to, and no account of yours on the line. The networks are not alternatives to each other; the platform is the choice, and the rows are relayed as the provider returns them.

Why this prompt works

Name the platforms

Each network is its own shelf with its own providers. Reddit and X is two calls; all four is four.

Put a window on it

X's official recent search covers the last seven days and the archive call the rest. Say which week you mean.

Ask for the price per platform

The rates differ by an order of magnitude between rows. olywork.com prints each before the call, so the agent can say what a daily watch will spend.

Keep the link

The rows carry the permalink. A complaint is only useful if a human can open it.

Why olywork.com

Why go through olywork.com

One key, not 9 accounts

olywork.com holds the provider keys. Neither you nor the agent sees them.

Price before the call

The provider's own rate, $0.000 markup, from a prepaid balance.

No subscription, no seats

Charged per call. $1.00 free per new team, no card to start.

Your own keys are free

Already pay Hunter? Register it and those calls are never metered.

Switch by changing a word

Another provider is a different word in the prompt, not a new integration.

Nothing to integrate

No SDK, no OAuth dance per vendor, no seats.

Behind the scenes

What ChatGPT sees before it calls

olywork.com does not choose for you. It hands ChatGPT this comparison, with the price shown before any call, and ChatGPT picks. Or you tell it how: "cheapest", "most reliable", "the one that takes what I have", or a provider by name.

How these numbers are made

PricesEach provider’s own published rate, converted to US dollars for one chargeable event of the unit they bill in. olywork.com adds $0.000. Where a provider bills in credits, the conversion uses the rate on their public pricing page, last checked 2026-09-19.
Success rateolywork.com’s own served calls over the last 30 days: 2xx counts as a success, 5xx and timeouts as a failure. A 4xx is excluded, because it usually means the caller sent bad parameters and one bad query should not make a healthy endpoint look broken.
What this is notA controlled benchmark. These are real calls with real inputs, so sample sizes and the difficulty of what was asked differ by provider. Treat the rates as live reliability, not a like-for-like test.
VerifiedThe date olywork.com last called the endpoint end to end and confirmed the shape of its response and the price it charged.
From the field

What people actually struggle with

Keyword-monitoring threads are a vendor parade: of the ~165 Reddit and X posts read in August 2026, one launch campaign ran to six near-identical tweets and two reposts into vendor-run subreddits, and a dozen monitoring tools pitched themselves to the same questions. These five are people hitting the wall themselves.

Reddit closed the side door

“Reddit now blocks anonymous access to its JSON API at the network level.” r/ClaudeAI, 20 points

What this page can do about it: That poster's Reddit MCP stopped returning rows and was rebuilt on RSS. The Reddit rows here are providers with their own access, priced per call, and the agent calls them with the same setup line it uses for everything else.

A developer app just to search is the wrong shape

“They require setting up Reddit developer apps and OAuth tokens just to do basic searches.” r/mcp, 57 points

What this page can do about it: Agreed, and none of the Reddit rows here asks for one. The honest limit is that they return posts through Reddit's own search; the comment tree and the vote are still the official API's.

The official X rate adds up fast

“25 cents for 2 requests? This is just for a basic post search.” X

What this page can do about it: That is X's per-post rate, and the official row here carries exactly it, on your own account. The two scraper rows sit beside it at a fraction of the price, with what the live traffic says about each, so the choice is yours with the numbers in front of you.

Searching from your own account can get it flagged

“doing any programmatic actions outside of the official API will flag an account” X, 1,287 likes

What this page can do about it: That warning is about your account. The scraper providers here use none of yours, so the risk sits with the provider; the page does not call that safe, it calls it theirs, and shows their measured success instead.

The old objection, still the objection

“Why is he charging for low volume pull requests too?” r/sysadmin, 5,377 points

What this page can do about it: Low volume is what per-call pricing is for. Ten posts a day on a scraper row is cents a month, with no tier, no minimum and the rate printed before each call.

The detail

What actually differs

Reddit is three third-party providers, none of them Reddit.

ScrapeCreators bills one credit a call, TikHub a tenth of a cent per successful call, JustOneAPI per success in yuan; all run on olywork.com's own key with no developer app. What they search is Reddit's own search, so relevance is Reddit's, and the rows are posts: comment trees, votes and anything that writes to Reddit still need an approved app of your own.

X is the one platform with an official row.

X's recent search runs on your own X developer account at X's own per-post rate, never metered by olywork.com; the archive call covers history at the same rate. The two scraper rows are cheaper and, on the traffic olywork.com has measured, answer more often, and they use no account of yours. They are also scraping, and the provider carries that risk, not the page; the reliability section shows what the live traffic looks like rather than promising.

LinkedIn and TikTok are narrower shelves.

LinkedIn post search is one provider reading what Google has indexed of public posts, so a post the index has not reached is not there. TikTok keyword search returns videos, with three providers. There is no Facebook or Instagram keyword search in the catalog, and monitoring is the agent's loop: no alerts, no schedule and no sentiment score come with the rows.

Background

What is a Reddit search API, and what happened to the official one?

A Reddit search API returns the posts matching a keyword as data, across every subreddit, with the score, the comment count and the permalink. Reddit's own API still exists, but self-service app keys stopped, anonymous JSON calls now answer with a 403, and access runs through an approval queue, which is why the forum's Reddit MCP servers keep breaking and rebuilding on RSS. X's official search API is open but priced per post returned and capped per month. The providers on this page read both networks for you, plus LinkedIn's public posts as Google indexes them and TikTok's keyword search, and return rows; the official X call is here too, on your own X developer account.

Questions

Before you start

Do I need a Reddit API key?

No. The three Reddit rows are third-party providers on olywork.com's own key, billed per call from your team's balance at the provider's rate with $0.000 added. If you hold an approved Reddit app, that is for posting and comment trees; searching posts does not need it here.

How much does the X search cost?

Two ways. The official recent search bills at X's own per-post rate on your own X developer account, and olywork.com meters none of it. The scraper rows bill per successful call on olywork.com's key, at a rate the page prints beside each. Neither needs an X Basic subscription.

Can I monitor a keyword continuously?

The agent can, by calling on a schedule you give it. olywork.com has no alerting, no scheduler and no sentiment layer; it returns the posts and the price. A daily watch on two platforms is two calls a day.

Which provider should my agent use?

The platform decides the shelf. Within it, olywork.com shows each row's rate and measured success side by side, and the agent picks, or you tell it; olywork.com does not route or fail over between them.
